Bluff Mountain Music Festival
June 11th, 2011--Bluff Mountain rises majestic on the spine of the southern Appalachian Mountains
to an elevation of 4,860 feet. Straddling the state line, it is a prominent landmark visible from far around for the
residents of both Madison County, North Carolina and Cocke County, Tennessee. Bluff Mountain is Madison County's second
U.S. Forest Service.

Hot Doggett Bike Race
July 9th, 2011--Mark your calanders now to come join us on July 9, 2011 for the 6th Annual
HOT DOGGETT 100 and DEVIL'S FORK METRIC CENTURY RIDE. Last year's event was a great time for all of the riders and
this year's event will be even better. We had over 300 riders in 2010 and we hope for an even larger turn-out in 2011.
We will have the same challenging 100 mile and 100 kilometer closed loop courses as last year. Our 100 mile course covers
some of the most scenic and lightly traveled roads anywhere in western North Carolina. Those of you who are seeking a challenge
will find it in the 9,600 feet of ascension on that course. For a still challenging but slightly easier ride (a mere 6,500 feet of climbing), you might want to try the
100 kilometer ride. This ride covers about 64 miles and actually goes over Devil's Fork Gap and the Appalachian Trail into
Tennessee for a few miles.
